BMC orders thermal screening at airports; sets up special mpox ward

Following the declaration of Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by WHO, airports in states like Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala have started surveillance of passengers coming from affected countries. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials met airport authorities to discuss precautionary measures, screening and surveillance. BMC has also set up a 14-bed ward at the Seven Hills Hospital as a precaution.
