Bradman's 'baggy green' cap worn against India fetches record price

Don Bradman wore th cap during India's first tour of Australia as an independent country in 1947-48, scoring 715 runs in six innings at an average of 178.75 sold for $311,000. During the five-Test series, Bradman also became Australia's first player to notch 100 first-class centuries leading the hosts to a 4-0 win. At the end of the tour, Bradman gave the cap to the Indian team manager Pankaj "Peter" Gupta who passed it on to wicketkeeper P K Sen.
