The village of Sultanpur, which has a population of 1,200 people - is one of 3,114 that the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has declared drug-free. According to government records, 42% of Haryana’s 7,536 villages have been declared drug-free in the last year – a feat that authorities and village residents attribute to a combination of strict policing and community outreach.
