Earth Day 2023: Date, theme, history, significance

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 in order to honour the environmental movement and raise awareness to protect natural resources. American Senator Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day for environmental education. The theme for Earth Day 2023 is "Invest In Our Planet". Earth Day currently raises awareness about renewable energy and global warming. On April 22, 1970, Nelson organized the first Earth Day with the help of a graduate student at Harvard University named Denis Hayes.
