FM Nirmala Sitharaman unveils Rs 2.2 lakh crore boost for urban housing

The Finance Minister emphasised that this investment will cater to the housing needs of one crore urban poor and middle-class families as part of a larger Rs 10 lakh crore allocation. The Interim Budget earlier this year revised PMAY's allocation to Rs 80671 crore from the initial estimate of Rs 54103 crore crucial for addressing housing shortages in both urban and rural areas and facilitating the completion of 4.21 crore houses over the past decade.
