Heavy rain, lightning lash parts of Delhi; yellow alert issued

Parts of the national capital woke up to heavy rains accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms. The IMD also issued a yellow alert for June 25-27 in New Delhi. After a sluggish start, the monsoon has progressed swiftly and has covered many parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, northeast India, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, most parts of Himachal Pradesh and some parts of Haryana.
