Honor CEO unveils phones to reduce eye strain and detect AI deepfakes

Honor's AI Defocus Eye Protection aims to provide relief from near-sightedness by inducing controlled defocus in the user's peripheral visual field. The defocus glasses on the smartphone's screen are shown to decrease transient myopia by an average of 13 degrees after 25 minutes of reading. This on-device AI examines frame-by-frame information to identify flaws in videos and images that are imperceptible to the human eye, thus helping to prevent fraud.
