How a fake Canara Bank KYC link cost a Mangaluru man Rs 6.6 lakh

The man received a message that warned him that the account would be frozen unless he updated his KYC details through an APK link. He believed the message to be legitimate. The page demanded sensitive details such as his UIDAI number, mobile number, ATM PIN, and CVV. The victim received OTPs which he did not share. Yet, Rs 6.6 lakh was stolen from his account through multiple unauthorised transactions, using his debit card.
