If you recently visited a grocery and asked for a plastic carry bag, chances are the shopkeeper refused to give one to you. This is because the Centre banned certain single-use plastic items starting July 1. The question then arises: How effective is this measure, considering plastic usage is present in almost all spheres? 

Prima facie, this move feels effective, doesn’t it? Single-use plastics, however, constitute approximately half of all plastic waste.
