How TSMC plans to compete with Intel, Samsung for ‘chip leadership’

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has announced plans to begin production of its highly advanced 1.6-nanometer (nm) chips by 2026 as it competes with other chipmakers to maintain its dominance in the chip manufacturing industry over the next decade. The new technology, dubbed “A16,” was unveiled at the North America Technology Symposium in California. TSMC claims that A16 will “greatly improve chip density and performance”.
