India's metro rail network poised to become world's 2nd largest: Puri

Union Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the length of India’s metro network would surpass that of the USA in the next 2 to 3 years to become the 2nd largest in the world. Currently, India’s metro network is the 3rd largest in the world. At the 16th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference cum Expo 2023, the minister said that the pace of growth of the metro network in the country has seen an unprecedented increase in recent years.
