India must double annual EV workforce to 30,000 to achieve full localisation by 2030: Study

Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers' 'EV Skill Gap Study', stated that direct job creation due to the advent of EVs is expected to be around 2,00,000 jobs (excluding shop floor and contractual) and a total talent investment of Rs 13,552 crore is expected for hiring and training the workforce. The report pointed out that 43% of the technical competencies between ICE and EV have minimal overlap and would require fresh skilling of talent.
