India ready to move to clean energy according to ‘national circumstances’: Environment minister

India is ready to shift to clean energy sources but the transition will be in accordance with the country’s “national circumstances”, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav told on Tuesday.

At an online event, Yadav said that while “phase out” of coal use would mean a complete stop on using the resource, and “phasing down” would be the reduction in the proportion of coal in the overall energy mix.
