Lyrid meteor shower to peak tonight

Ending a nearly three-month-long drought of shooting stars, the annual Lyrid meteor shower will peak in the skies tonight.
The meteors will streak past Earth as the planet enters the debris field left by its parent comet. Lyrids are debris of Comet Thatcher, which is currently traveling at a distance of 1,60,00,00,000 kilometers from the planet.
