The two-match test series will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The selectors have dropped their pacer Shaheen Afridi as the vice-captain to manage his workload with a busy cricket season impending. Pakistan are scheduled to play nine Tests, 14 T20Is, and, at least, 17 ODIs from August to April 2025. Shan Masood will lead the Pakistani side in the upcoming series. Saud Shakeel has been promoted as the new deputy to Masood for the series.
