For all the bluster and noise that the doom theorists made about the grim prediction of the ancient Mayans eight years ago, you might have noticed one important detail - the world actually didn't end in 2012. The theory found new legs when a scientist, Paolo Tagalogun sent out a flurry of tweets suggesting that a switch from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar in the 18th century meant that 11 days were lost in every year since.

When added to the original December 21, 2012 date, we arrive at a new date for the apocalypse - 6 days from now.
