The Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, blocking out the Sun's light and casting a shadow on a portion of the Earth's surface. On April 8, as the moon approaches Earth at its closest point on the day preceding the eclipse, it will be merely 3,60,000 kilometres away. This alignment will lead to a prolonged period of totality with the Sun being obscured for an astounding 7.5 minutes, a rare occurrence.
