WhatsApp bans 14.26 lakh accounts in India in February alone

In a monthly report published by the instant messaging platform, WhatsApp has received a total of 335 grievance reports out of which 21 accounts were actioned.
WhatsApp identifies an account to be from India from the phone number prefix of “+91”. Out of the 335 reports 194 reports were for a ban appeal, 92 for account support, 15 for safety-related issues, and the rest for other types of support.
