‘Capitalist Budget’, says Congress; nothing for common man, say Opposition leaders

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram welcomed the increase in capital expenditure but pointed out that the government has slashed “every key subsidy” which means that the increased spending would not be on the poor.

“Today’s Budget speech was the most capitalist speech ever read by a Finance Minister,” he said.
