'Denial of Equal Pay for Equal Work Offends Article 14 and 21 of Constitution'

The Andhra Pradesh HC on Thursday ruled that denial of equal pay for equal work offends Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution. 

The High Court relied upon the case of State of Punjab and others v. Jagjit Singh and others where it was stated that: “An employee engaged for the same work, cannot be paid less than another, who performs the same duties and responsibilities.”
