18 Naxals killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh

"An encounter erupted between security forces and Naxals. So far, 18 Naxal bodies have been found at the encounter site in Chhotebethiya, Kanker. A huge quantity of weapons were recovered. Three jawans were injured. A search operation is currently underway," IGP (Bastar) P P Sundarraj said. During the operation, the BSF team came under heavy gunfire from the insurgents. The BSF responded by returning fire, resulting in a fierce gun battle.
