226 species of birds found during survey in Maha's Pench Tiger Reserve

A total of 226 bird species have been spotted at the Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra during a recent survey conducted as part of the "citizen science" model to create baseline data of bird diversity and density. A detailed scientific report on the data collected from Jan 13 to 15, will be published soon. A baseline checklist of 310 species in the Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra has already been created by the Central India Bird Academy, a Nagpur-based NGO, the release said.
