40 lesser-known destinations in India to be developed to boost tourism

The Centre has approved over Rs 3,295 crore across 23 states to transform lesser-known destinations into major tourist attractions to ensure more distribution of visitors throughout India. These include Rang Ghar in Sivasagar (Assam), Matsyagandha Lake in Saharsa (Bihar), a proposed Town Square in Porvorim (Goa), and Orchha in Madhya Pradesh. This investment will also generate employment through sustainable tourism development.
