Ahmedabad has 3L vehicles without HSRP

State govt may have asked dealers to not deliver vehicles without High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) but according to an estimate around nine lakh vehicles plying on Gujarat’s roads are without HSRPs. In Ahmedabad city and district, this number was around three lakh, while Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara together have four lakh such vehicles. Of these, 2.5 lakh vehicles are around 10 years old while the rest are less than five years old, officials said.
