Amit Shah says CAA will be implemented soon after Covid-19 vaccination drive ends

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday announced that the Centre would start granting citizenship to refugees under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) once the Covid-19 vaccination drive is over.
“In 2018, we promised CAA for all. In 2019, they supported us. In 2020, the CAA came into effect. What we promise, we deliver. As soon as the work on vaccination and the pandemic is over, we will implement CAA,” Shah said.
