As Mercury soars to 49°C, 6 more deaths reported in Rajasthan due to heat stroke

Official sources said that there were reports of five deaths due to suspected heat stroke in the state on Thursday as well. According to the Met department in the capital city Jaipur, Phalodi was the hottest place in the state with 49ºC. The day temperature in Jaisalmer was 48.3ºC, in Barmer 48.2ºC, in Jodhpur 47.6ºC, in Kota 46.7ºC, in Ganganagar 46.6ºC, in Bikaner 45.8ºC, in Churu 44.8ºC and in Jaipur 42.8 degrees Celsius, the department said.
