Australia are in control of the proceedings, despite losing five wickets, against South Africa on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test at the Gabba in Brisbane. Earlier, the hosts bundled out the Proteas for 152 runs with Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc claiming three wickets apiece. Pat Cummins and Scott Boland took two wickets each. For South Africa, Kyle Verreynne was the top run-getter with a score of 64.
