Bangladesh to develop indigenous alternative social media platforms to Facebook and WhatsApp

Bangladesh State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak has stated that in order to increase the country’s self-reliant, the ICT department is developing its own social media platform, ‘Jogajog,’ as an alternative to Facebook, and a messaging platform, ‘Alapan,’ as a competitor to WhatsApp.

He stated that this will enable the country’s entrepreneurs to establish their own online marketplace and group for information, data, and communication.
