Bengaluru comes close to eclipsing Delhi’s Covid numbers

In June, Delhi recorded over 3,000 Covid cases every day, making it one of the worst affected cities in the world, along with New York City and Sao Paulo. Last week, another city has achieved that dubious distinction - Bengaluru.

Bengaluru, up to the end of June, had just 1,500 cases for its 6.8 million people. But by the first week of July, the situation was dire with over 1,000 new cases each day.
