Bharat Biotech starts picking up unused Covaxin stock, re-labelling them after shelf life extended

Bharat biotech is picking up stocks of its unused Covid-19 vaccines, Covaxin, and re-labelling them with an updated expiry date.

This follows after the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved the extension of the vaccine’s expiry date from nine to 12 months. The drug regulator’s approval came after stability studies showed that the vaccine is good up to 12 months. Earlier, the vaccine was permitted to be used only up to six months.
