Bhogali Bihu celebrations in Assam, former CM Sonowal burns traditional Assamese meji

Bhogali Bihu also known as Magh Bihu and Maghar Domahi is a harvest festival celebrated in Assam, North-East India. It marks the end of the harvesting season in the month of Magh (January–February). A bonfire (Meji) is lit for the ceremonial conclusion and prayer to the God of Fire. Here in this visual, the National General Secretary of BJP, Dilip Saikia is seen celebrating Bhogali Bihu.
