BJD demands continuation of PMGKAY for benefit of poor

The Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha on Friday urged the Central government to continue the distribution of 5 kg rice per head under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) from the current month. The BJD has raised this demand in the wake of the Centre launching distribution of free rice to all beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) for one year.
