Deaths of Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails ‘alarming’

India has raised with Pakistan the deaths of several Indians lodged in jails in that country. Calling the high number of deaths “alarming,” MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said Pakistan is duty-bound to maintain the safety and security of Indian prisoners.
He said that 6 Indians, most of them fishermen, have died in Pakistani jails in the last nine months.
