Despite threat of deportation, migrant workers in Qatar demand dues

With a little over a month to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, serious allegations of wage abuses of migrant workers have been found there.

In its recent report, Human Rights Watch points to the wage theft but also Qatari authority’s reaction, deporting workers who participated in protests to demand their dues. These include Indian migrant workers and those from Nepal and Kenya.
