The Delhi High Court recently directed the Centre to enforce the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act to grant compensation to victims of road accidents caused by uninsured vehicles within six months’ time. They sought a direction to the Centre to implement various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and rules and implement various orders/directions/advisories passed by the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court by way of its judicial pronouncements.
