Fares low, won’t drive passengers to airport, Hyderabad cab drivers say

Hundreds of drivers in Hyderabad, associated with different cab aggregator platforms, did not accept trips from and to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad for the fifth consecutive day Tuesday, Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) said. Stating that the current fares are not acceptable as per today’s cost of living, the cab drivers are demanding a base remuneration of Rs 1200 for a trip of 25-30 km and Rs 1700 for a 45-50 km trip.
