FDA books amazon.in for selling abortion pills

The intelligence branch (drugs) of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) headquarters in Mumbai has registered an offence on April 29 against the e-commerce portal Amazon.in for promoting and allowing vendors to use its platform to sell Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) kits without prescription and sales bill.
The MTP kit is categorized under sensitive ‘Schedule H’ under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
