Film on homosexual solider not given NOC as it would show Army in ‘poor light’, Centre tells LS

The Union defence ministry refused to grant NOC to a movie because it portrayed a romantic relationship between a soldier and a Kashmiri boy, which would cast the Indian Army “in poor light and raise security issues”, the Centre told the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The defence ministry recently rejected the script of filmmaker Onir's movie We Are, based on a gay army officer.
