FMCG major Britannia Industries to close historic Kolkata factory

Britannia is known in India for its biscuits like Marie Gold and Good Day. The factory was established in the year 1947 and also holds a pivotal role in the company's early years of expansion in India. The company said, "This is to inform that a Voluntary Retirement Scheme offered by the Company to the workers at its factory situated at Taratala, Kolkata, West Bengal has been accepted by all the permanent workers of aforementioned factory of the Company."
