France captain Hugo Lloris announces retirement from international football

France captain Hugo Lloris on Monday announced his decision to retire from international football at the age of 36, after turning out for the French national team for more than 14 years. With the Franch team, he won the World Cup in 2018 and the Nations League in 2020-21. He also led the team to the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, where France was defeated on penalties by Argentina. Lloris retired as France's most-capped player, having made 145 appearances for his country.
