Fresh snowfall in higher reaches, rains in plains of Kashmir

The weather conditions are expected to continue for the next 48 hours. Gulmarg skiing resort in Baramulla district, which is set to host the fourth Khelo India Winter Games from Wednesday, experienced around 1.5 feet of fresh snowfall in the last 24 hours. Other areas such as Kupwara, Handwara, and Sonamarg also witnessed snowfall. Srinagar city and the rest of the valley have been experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall since Sunday.
