Freshworks lists on Nasdaq after billion-dollar IPO

Freshworks has become the first Indian software maker to list on Nasdaq after raising over $1.03 billion through its initial public offering (IPO) at a market cap of $10.13 billion, triggering elation among startup mavens who expect the listing to open the floodgates for mega product companies to be built out of India.
The San Mateo-based startup, which was founded in Chennai, sold 28.5 million shares at $36 apiece.
