Google will have to pay $1.1 million to a company executive over gender based discrimination. The lawsuit by Google Cloud Engineering Director Ulku Rowe alleged that the company gave higher pay to less experienced male executives who were hired for similar roles at the same time. She alleged that Google also denied her promotions in response to her complaints. The New York jury ordered Google to pay Rowe for both punitive damages and pain and suffering.
