Habitat beyond Earth: European Space Agency unveils 3-D floor for Moon

The European Space Agency (ESA) has unveiled a skeletal floor to be used in lunar habitat design as countries eye another visit to the Moon. The plan is to extend humans’ presence on the Moon this time around.

Researchers have readied a prototype floor design section, which has been 3-D printed in stainless steel by Dutch company MX3D. The overall floor design is made out of six separate segments that were printed vertically in 246 hours.
