The second edition of the Meghalaya Pineapple Festival kicked off at Dilli Haat on July 10 and will go on till July 14. Meghalaya's pineapple industry reportedly exported 3.5 million tonnes to the Middle East in June. Known for its distinctive sweet flavour and juiciness, the Kew pineapple from Meghalaya is one of the finest varieties in India. The unique climatic conditions and fertile soil of Meghalaya provide an ideal environment for pineapple cultivation.
