In Ashok Chavan’s exit: Congress loses prominent face in Marathwada

Senior leaders in Marathawada’s Congress unit, though stunned by former chief minister Ashok Chavan’s decision to leave the party, said that they had sensed it happening for a year. Chavan is a second-generation Congress leader and his resignation has left the party without a prominent face in Marathwada. While Chavan has not said he is joining another party, speculations are rife about him joining the BJP which will boost the party in Marathwada.
