In Punjab, 80% of cases are due to the UK variant of COVID-19: Harsh Vardhan

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that around 80 per cent of all COVID-19 cases in Punjab are due to the UK variant as confirmed by genome sequencing.
"It has come to notice that this surge in cases is event-driven like big fat weddings, local body elections, farmer protest, etc could also play a possible role," Harsh Vardhan was quoted.
