India beat New Zealand 2-1 in a shootout to win the bronze medal in women’s hockey at the ongoing Commonwealth Games on Sunday.
India had taken the lead in the second quarter courtesy a goal from Salima Tete, but New Zealand made it 1-1 with a penalty stroke with just 17 seconds to go in the match, taking it into the shootout.
