Indian automakers embark on one trillion dollar export journey

Major car manufacturers are planning to ensure that India becomes a global export hub. There are already signs of progress with the latest data for April showing that passenger vehicle exports have risen by as much as 21.1% while two-wheeler exports have shot up by 24.3%. Undoubtedly, this spurt comes on the back of a low base as overall automobile exports fell by 5.5% in 2023-24, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
