Israeli space-tech startup can locate lithium deposits on Earth

Israeli start-up ASTERRA's satellite-image analysis programme can now locate deposits of lithium under Earth's surface from space using technology initially intended to find concentrations of subterranean water on Mars.

Lithium is one of the minerals that are currently in high demand in the tech manufacturing industry. It is used in batteries for electric cars, transistors, processors, and cell phones, among other things.
